..::Hamburg Street Art::..
February 28, 2009

I came across something pretty weird but stunning when I jetted to Hamburg, Germany, last week. Something which would never exist in London town. Something no one could imagine, who is familiar with the street art scene in LDN. I came across an open-air street art gallery. (And the people close to the London art scene know, that if an artist puts some piece on the streets it will be nicked even before the wheat paste dried, the last screw is put in to fix it or the piece even appeared on any kind of street art blog…well…Anyway, here are some impressions of Hamburg’s first open-air street art gallery hosted by “die Kupferdiebe”. Most of the stuff is screwed to the wall – normal screws, no further fixation. Seems the Collectors-hype hasn’t reached Hamburg so far.

After the three “free-4-wall” exhibitions at thebricklanegallery, the gallery is now hired out for a new show related to spray-paint, again. The hipartgallery features very talented artists, couple of very good pieces. Loads of stencils again, but all pretty detailed and well-done. If you have been at Cans recently, you will know one or two of the artists, however, 95% of the show is new work. Check it out until coming week, as it is a one week only show. (If you intend to buy, be even quicker and call Brice’s private mobile, as quite a lot is already sold…If you cannot make it, I have a little present for you – check it out HERE…

As soon as I find the flyer, I will post a link to the organiser, who hired the gallery.
..::WK Interact meets Anthony Lister::..
August 22, 2008
Luckily I got my hands on a ticket for the private viewing of the WK Interact / Anthony Lister show yesterday. The stuff they put on the wall was really impressive. If you are around Soho/Covent Garden definitely crash in the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms to check out that show, which runs until end of September. I did a little gallery for the pics I like most, but as I don’t want to spoil the story, for all the artwork you have to lift your a** and go yourself. Have a look here for the gallery: LINK.

..::Sticker Bomb::..
August 21, 2008
There will be a new book out soon, dealing just with stickers. If I can get my hands on it, I will give an update on the book. The big difference to all other books recently released, is that all (?) stickers – or at least 250, regarding to the cover, – are fully peelable. Great Idea, happy sticker times for the London East End – Boris might be of other opinion though…
All I know is that the release party is tomorrow. In the middle of London, of course at the head quarters of the biggest energy drink manufacturer world wide. Big up.

Just found a very nice website/blog on the web. www.ukstreetart.co.uk features a lot of gallery related stuff, events and ,as a unique little gem, a couple of exclusive interviews with the big names of the scene. They also got the stencil-godfather himself, Xavier Prou aka Blek le rat. Guys, you’re definitely in my feed-favs. Keep it real.
..::UPDATE: free 4 wall part III::..
August 16, 2008
On thursday thebricklanegallery did the opening show of the third part of the free4wall series. Met Brice and AirborneMark again. Had a good chat – and a look around. Some of the artwork was outstanding, as eg the work by DanK, some of the stuff on the walls I just didn’t get the idea behind maybe. Looked like child’s work to me – pretty expensive child’s work though. Anyway, must be art. Sometimes I don’t get that street art hype…However, have a look at the brilliant stuff:
